Patti Weil

Patti holds a BS from Springfield College 1980 and MS from Queens College 1986. She participated in tennis, basketball, and track in college until a severe knee injury during her Freshman year stopped her in her tracks and ended her athletic career. After 6 surgeries, Patti started cross training to stay in shape and completed her first Sprint Triathlon in 1985. This opened the door to become an athlete again and in just three years she qualified for Kona! Patti’s first IronMan was the Hawaii World Championship! Since then she has completed 10 IM’s (3 of those being Kona, although she qualified 5x’s, she could not go in ‘92 & ‘94) and 2 IM 70.3 World Championships in 2010 & 2017. Patti has qualified for the IM 70.3 Worlds every year from 2009-2017, but was not able to go most years for various reasons. Patti was the overall winner of two half IM’s at age 49 and 53. She has been a USAT All American Athlete since 2007 and IM All World Athlete since 2013.

All of these incredible accomplishments we not met without hardships. Patti was hit by a car while cycling and was unable to compete from 1995-2005 due to injuries and surgeries from the accident. She didn’t give up though and came back in 2006 with a different outlook and a deep appreciation for the sport!

Originally from NJ (she will always be a Jersey Girl!), Patti now lives in Suffern, NY with her cats Sage and Rosemary (Rosie). A firm believer in animal adoption, she has adopted cats and dogs from very young, to very old, and feels blessed to have had each one in her life.

At her core, Patti truly loves helping people reach goals that they thought were totally unattainable. After teaching middle school for 35 years, Patti is enjoying her second career as a triathlon and Master’s swim coach. She is feeling great and living a life she loves at 60!
